10.30am - 11.30am on Saturday Nov 4th.

Join felt maker, Penny Dixon to make an adorable little keepsafe felted bowl. You will learn how to handle unspun wool fibres and place them over a flat resist. Using soap and water you will find out how to agitate the fibres enabling them to form a beautiful strong piece of felted fabric. You will also find out the correct time to remove the resist and turn your work into a 3-dimensional piece. 

This will become a little bowl, mini plant pot holder keepsafe dish which you will be able to take home with you. Suitable for beginners or those who have felted before.

12.30pm - 1.30pm on Saturday Nov 4th.

In this workshop you will experience how to form a basic wire armature an animal, how to fill it using newspaper, how to wrap it to create a firm base and how to finish to create either a realistic or fantastical result!

Normally this process would take me a couple of days so we will only have time to have a go at the basic methods, I will provide all materials and tools needed and will always be available to offer future advice and workshops.

2.30pm - 3.30pm on Saturday Nov 4th.

In this workshop you will learn how to make a clay pinch pot by gently pressing with your thumb and fingers. We will be using air drying clay which means you will be able to take your creation home at the end of the session. 

You will also have the opportunity to paint it with any colours you like and you will also learn how to add some beautiful pieces of gold leaf to it!

10.30am - 11.30am on Sunday November 5th 

Ever wanted to try creating beautiful pieces of artwork using alcohol inks? Well, look no further as we have the workshop for you.

You will explore how alcohol inks work, and test out different techniques and methods of using them. Alcohol inks are a magical medium that create beautiful marks and lend themselves to abstract fluid artwork illustrations.

During the workshop you will begin by creating samples then explore different methods of making marks and moving the inks.

Please ensure that you wear old clothes or an apron that you don’t mind getting a little messy!

I know from personal experience that creativity helped me deal with the loss of my beloved father in a very mindful way by painting scenes of where we’d holidayed together on his sailing clothes, to keep our connection alive.

WAF ECO FABRIC PAINTING WORKSHOP – Rags to Treasure

Local mixed media artist, Anna Clarke leads this 'Rags to Treasure’ workshop where you will be shown how to breathe new life into a garment by painting a memorable scene on it.

Part of a garment will be provided & prepped for you and Anna will guide you through painting a seascape from a photograph.

2.30pm - 3.30pm on Sunday November 5th 

In this relaxed workshop you will be able to design and carve your own stamp to keep and use when ever you like. We shall design a simple image that will then be carve into a polymer stamp material. The carving will involve sharp tools but full guidance will be given. 

All materials will be provided and you will keep the stamp that you have made. No previous experience is needed and some design ideas will be provided.

This workshop is for children aged12 years and above due to sharp tools.
